Acute Needs Analysis: Identifying the most urgent, life-threatening needs

Read the global analysis

Over the past year, our teams at IMPACT have been piloting the Acute Needs Analysis (ANA), a focused approach designed to identify where the risk of preventable loss of life is most acute.

The analysis draws on the best available primary and secondary data, with particular attention to known drivers of mortality.

By applying common definitions and methods across crises, the Acute Needs Analysis aims to provide a consistent picture of risk, helping humanitarian actors compare contexts and prioritize more effectively within and across crises.

About IMPACT

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Geneva, IMPACT Initiatives is a leading applied research organization and the largest independent provider of data in crisis-affected contexts. Through the REACH initiative in particular, we enable humanitarian and other aid actors to make better, evidence-based decisions by delivering timely, relevant, and methodologically rigorous data and analysis.
